陈志光是一位在艺术上孜孜以求、勤奋探索的当代艺术家，多年来他涉猎绘画、雕塑和公共艺术等不同领域，艺术思想十分活跃，艺术眼界也十分开阔。他立足闽南从事创作，但他参与的活动已超越地域，在中国当代艺术的许多重要学术性展览和国际艺术交流中成为引人注目的一位，这个展览就是他艺术积累、水到渠成的体现。
　　在我看来，陈志光艺术创造上的突出特征是感知与感性两方面的结合。他总是认真思考当代艺术面临的文化课题，敏感于艺术界争鸣和探索的焦点问题，思想上不作固步自封，而是经常和艺术家、批评家朋友展开讨论交流，这种对艺术文化的感知使他在创作上一直保持开放且活跃的精神状态，能够不拘陈法地大胆创新，也一步步使自己的艺术走向深化。另一方面，他又有着作为艺术家最重要也是最可贵的感性，在多种艺术材料媒介上进行实验，达到信手把握，融会贯通，在艺术家表现上则直抒胸臆，把对生活的体验特别是对生命的怀想畅快地表达出来。这两方面的有机结合，使他的艺术形成了有鲜明观念又有鲜活语言的面貌。他的许多雕塑作品在介入现实空间中获得了内涵的实现与意义的延展，他的绘画则在充满视觉张力的同时表露出直觉的生命活力。在当代艺术家中，像他这样在几个领域齐头并进的创造是不多见的。

Preface
With the active thought and a broadened outlook of the art, Chenzhiguang is a contemporary artist who explores the art perseveringly and diligently, covering the different fields of painting, sculpture, public art etc.
　　In my opinion, the distinct characteristic of Chenzhiguang’s art creativity is the combination of the apperception and the sensibility. Chen has been pondering the cultural problems which the contemporary art faces. He is sensitive to the contending and exploring focus of the art. Instead of isolating himself, Chen always communicates and discusses with the other artists and critics. On the one hand, the apperception of the art culture helps to keep him owning an opening and dynamic mind, which urges him to be creative and deepens his art creation as well. On the other hand, based on the perception which each artist dreams to cherish, Chen made lots of experiments on different media of artistic materials in order to achieve mastery through a comprehensive study of the subject, trying to directly express his innate feelings of his own life experiences and memory of lives. The feature of his art with brilliant ideas and vivid language was gradually formed by the combination of these two factors. Many of his sculpture works got involved in a real space and achieved both a realization of the connotation and the extension of the significance. Chen’s paintings indicated the intuitive dynamic of life and meanwhile, the visual tension could be found in every corner of his painting works. Among the contemporary artists, few artists could achieve a lot in several fields like him.
